Anambra Election: Even If They Share N100,000, We’ll Still Win By Landslide – Soludo

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed confidence that his party will record a landslide victory in the ongoing Anambra governorship election, despite reports of widespread vote buying in parts of the state.

Soludo, who cast his vote at Ofeiyi Ward 19, Polling Unit 002 in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, at about 1:30 p.m., said he had received reports indicating that some candidates were paying voters to secure support.

“Today is election day, and as expected, I’ve been getting calls from across the state. So far, the process has been relatively peaceful and going on smoothly,” the governor said.

He, however, noted a few challenges, including malfunctioning BVAS machines in some polling units, such as Orumbanasa, but said the overall conduct remained orderly.

“The concerns we’ve received is in one or two places in Nnewi South, particularly where we understand there is massive vote buying, with some being paid by a candidate particularly from that local government, and he seems to be desperate to win his local government, and he’s been sharing N15,000, and I said even if he shares N100,000, never mind, let the people just vote and count the votes,” Soludo said.

Reaffirming his optimism, the governor added that the election would reflect the will of the people.
“We are convinced that, based on one man, one vote, we are going to win by a landslide—no doubt about that,” he declared.
