Anambra: Days after joining APC, group drags Ozigbo into guber race 

Few days after he dumped the Labour Party (LP), a popular group in Anambra state, VALiant Movement has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination form for Chief Valentine Ozigbo. 

The move, described as a historic and bold step, signals the group’s commitment to ensuring transformational leadership in the state.

Announcing the development in a statement signed by Chief Teddy Ezeike, the VALiant Movement said their decision was based on Ozigbo’s track record of visionary leadership, integrity, and deep connection with the people of Anambra. 

According to the group, Ozigbo embodies the true aspirations of Ndi Anambra and represents the bridge between grassroots needs and elite governance.

“This move is to demonstrate our resolve to ensure that this year, transformational leadership is entrenched in Anambra State. It is a rallying cry from the streets of Onitsha to the fields of Ayamelum, from the marketplaces of Nnewi to the hills of Aguata—a call for a leader who understands our struggles, shares our dreams, and possesses the competence, character, and compassion to chart a new course for Anambra,” the statement read.

The group further described Ozigbo as a “people’s choice” and a unique blend of tradition and innovation. With a sterling record as a multiple-award-winning global CEO, renowned philanthropist, international sports promoter, and advocate for youth development, the statement highlighted his consistent commitment to good governance and societal progress.

“Ozigbo is a shining beacon of hope and progress in a time when Anambra yearns for true leadership. Our decision to present this form to Valentine Ozigbo is an affirmation that we will no longer accept mediocrity in leadership, that we will not settle for politics as usual, and that we will not allow Anambra to be governed by anything less than the best,” the statement continued.

The VALiant Movement reiterated their belief that Ndi Anambra deserve a leader who listens, understands, and delivers on promises. They called on APC members, democracy enthusiasts, and all lovers of progress to unite behind Ozigbo’s candidacy, framing the upcoming election as a turning point in the state’s political history.

“We are making a statement that we deserve more, that Ndi Anambra deserve a leader who listens, understands, and delivers, that the era of empty promises and broken systems must come to an end. The purchase of the APC Gubernatorial Interest Form marks the beginning of what is expected to be an intense political contest in Anambra State. With this move, Valentine Ozigbo officially enters the race, backed by a passionate movement determined to redefine the political landscape of the state.
