ONITSHA – The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has commended stakeholders and community partners for their invaluable support in enhancing security infrastructure across the State.
The CP expressed appreciation for the facelift of several Police formations, including the renovation of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) at Awkuzu, and the installation of solar-powered lights across strategic divisions such as Amichi, Neni, Umuchu, 33 Division, Dunkofia, Oraifite, B Division, Ihiala, Amanuke, Awka, Onitsha, and others. He noted that these interventions have greatly improved police visibility and operational efficiency.
Emphasizing the importance of synergy, CP Orutugu said safety in Anambra can only be sustained through continuous collaboration between the Police and the public.
He further revealed that arrangements are underway for the official commissioning of the projects, which will cement Police-community relations and enhance security readiness.
In the spirit of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the CP also felicitated with Muslim faithful in Anambra on the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, urging peace, tolerance, and unity.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command reassured Ndi Anambra of its unwavering commitment to consolidating existing security gains, while calling for more cooperation, intelligence sharing, and partnership in sustaining peace and safety across the State.
