Nigeria’s track stars Tobi Amusan and Favour Ofili have secured their places in the 2025 Wanda Diamond League final, scheduled for next weekend at the prestigious Weltklasse Meeting in Zurich.

The organisers on Friday released the final standings for the 15-leg series, confirming both athletes among the finalists.

Ofili, who joined the circuit late at the ninth stop, did just enough to qualify for the women’s 200m final. She placed eighth overall with 13 points, keeping alive her quest to become only the second Nigerian — after Amusan — to win a Diamond League trophy.

For Amusan, qualification was never in doubt. The reigning 100m hurdles queen placed fifth in Lausanne with a time of 12.82 seconds, but her consistency throughout the season earned her 27 points, ranking her second overall behind American Grace Stark, who leads with 35 points.

Zurich holds fond memories for Amusan, who won her first two Diamond League titles there. She will now be aiming for a fourth crown, having secured her third in Eugene, the same venue where she clinched the world championship and set a world record in 2022.
