The acting Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma in Edo state, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel, has said the institution’s graduates excel through hard work and resilience.
The VC noted that only such graduates were qualified to “earn AAU’s certificates and distinctions through merit, and not purchase.”
Prof. Samuel stated this amid reported claim by a former governor of the dtate, who alleged that the institution’s certificates were sold to non-attendees.
The VC who spoke during a ceremony to honor a distinguished alumnus Dr. Isinene Onoabhagbe, discribed the latter as one of the university’s outstanding products making waves globally.
He added: “We’re proud to count Dr. Onoabhagbe among our esteemed alumni. We anticipate her continued impact in medicine, health data science, and global public health.”
On her part, Dr. Onoabhagbe who was represented at the ceremony by another alumnus, Dr. Obasanmi Jude, said: “I am proud to have graduated from this university, and I am proud to be part of a community that values excellence, integrity, and service.
”The lessons I learned here, the friendships I formed, and the mentorship I received, have been invaluable in shaping my career and my life.”
Dr. Onoabhagbe emphasised that the award was a testament to the quality of education and values that AAU instills in its students, and pledged to continue to make a positive impact, pushing boundaries, and inspiring others.
