Former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has declared his full support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, vowing to spearhead the campaign in the South-West region.
The pledge was made during a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration sensitization program in Badagry, Lagos, aimed at boosting voter participation ahead of the general elections.
Speaking through Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, Director-General of the Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, Ambode praised Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “President Tinubu has laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s progress with vision and courage. I urge Lagosians and all Nigerians to support his second term to build on these achievements.”
He called on residents to register and collect their PVCs to ensure their voices are heard in 2027.
Ambode also reaffirmed his ambition to return as Lagos State governor, promising to leverage past successes while addressing current challenges.
“I am committed to serving Lagos again, building on our gains to meet today’s realities,” he said.
The sensitization program, organized by the Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, focused on mobilizing communities for active democratic engagement.
“No PVC, no vote. We’re taking this message house-to-house to ensure every eligible voter in Lagos is registered,” Bamigbade emphasized.
The event attracted community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders who expressed support for both Tinubu’s re-election and Ambode’s gubernatorial comeback.
