Alfred Emberga Sworn In As Benue Assembly Speaker Following Dajoh’s Resignation

Hon. Alfred Emberga has officially taken the oath of office as the new Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Sunday, following the resignation of the former Speaker, Aondona Dajoh, earlier in the day.

Emberga’s ascension to the leadership position comes at a crucial time for the Benue State legislature, which has recently been dealing with internal tensions and political realignments.

“I pledge to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and fairness while fostering unity among members.

“My priority is to ensure that the House functions efficiently and continues to represent the interests of the people of Benue State.”

Political analysts note that Emberga inherits a challenging role, especially in light of recent political turbulence and the resignation of his predecessor.

His leadership will be closely watched as legislators work to restore confidence and streamline legislative processes.

The new Speaker also expressed gratitude to the former Speaker for his service, stating, “I thank my predecessor for his contributions.

“I am committed to building on the foundation he laid, while introducing initiatives that will enhance the effectiveness of this House.”
