These include cocoa processing in Idanre and Ondo West, palm oil refining in Okitipupa and Ese-Odo, cassava processing in Akoko, and fisheries development in Ilaje. He highlighted the potential for job creation and economic expansion through such targeted investments. Calling for the full implementation of the Ondo Deep Seaport, he described it as a billion-dollar venture capable of positioning the state as a major trade hub. He also urged the government to develop Araromi Beach into a prime tourist destination, enhancing hospitality and revenue generation. On security, Dr. Akinkuebi stressed the importance of equipping the Amotekun Corps with modern surveillance technology and fostering collaboration between local security agencies to create a safe environment for investors. He further recommended transitioning to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as an alternative to petrol, citing its potential to reduce transportation costs and ease economic burdens. Recognizing the need for a tech-driven future, he advocated for the establishment of innovation hubs, startup grants, and partnerships with global tech firms to equip Ondo’s youth with skills in AI, blockchain, and software development.
