The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has disclosed that the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) has hosted over 2,500 exhibitors and attracted at least 1.5 million visitors in its 20-year history.

ACCI President Emeka Obegolu, disclosed this at a press briefing to announce the 20th edition of the fair, scheduled to hold from September 25 to October 6, 2025, at the Chamber’s exhibition grounds.

According to Obegolu, who was represented by ACCI 2nd Deputy President and Chairman of the Fair’s Planning Committee, Dr. Aliyu Hong, the landmark edition would attract wide global participation. He noted that about 40 countries have already indicated interest to participate, while 20 international exhibitors will showcase products and services at the 2025 edition.

“Over the past two decades, the Abuja International Trade Fair has facilitated billions of naira in trade deals, investment and partnerships, while providing consistent visibility for small and medium-scale enterprises. It has evolved into a continental platform for trade, innovation and economic diplomacy,” the organisation’s president said.

He added that this year’s fair, themed “Sustainability, Consumption, Incentive, and Taxation,” will feature more than 100,000 participants across 12 exhibition sectors including agriculture, trade, fintech, sustainable energy, transportation, environmental solutions and creative industries.

Obegolu stressed that the 20th edition would also launch BABA FEST (Buy Africa, Build Africa), an initiative of the ACCI to promote African products and services within the continent and globally.

He further stated that the ACCI has contributed up to 50 percent to Abuja’s economy, but admitted that challenges such as low sponsorship and inadequate government support have been a problem.

The ACCI boss, however stressed that the Chamber remains committed to sustaining the platform as a driver of trade and economic growth.
