Air Peace Limited, reported significant flight delays at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, citing heavy rainfall as the cause.
The adverse weather, including thunderstorms and low visibility, disrupted safe takeoffs and landings across multiple routes, the airline confirmed.
In a statement signed by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, and issued via its X handle, the company explained that the weather conditions had affected its operations.
“Dear Esteemed Customer, Due to the heavy downpour of rain in Lagos this morning, some flights across our operating networks will be delayed,” the statement read.
The airline appealed for passengers’ understanding, stressing that safety remained paramount.
“While weather is beyond our control and safety remains our utmost priority, we appeal for your understanding as we manage the disruptions as best as we can and get you to your destinations safely.”
Air Peace further reassured customers of its commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
“At Air Peace, safety is not just a priority but a core commitment. We remain dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards for our passengers and crew.
“Thank you for your continued trust and support,” the statement said.
