The 11th edition of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) Annual Memorial Lecture is slated to hold on Monday February 24, in Bauchi State.
According to a statement by the foundation’s Director-General, Engr Abubakar Gambo Umar, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum is expected to chair the occasion.
He further noted that Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.

He explained that the annual event, which honours the legacy of Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto and former Premier of the defunct Northern Region, rotates among the 19 Northern states, with this year’s edition organised in collaboration with the Bauchi State Government.

He said the theme for this year’s lecture is, “Nature’s Bounty: Turning Northern Nigeria’s Natural Resources into Sustainable Prosperity”.
The statement said the event will feature presentation of scholarships to indigent students from Bauchi State in tertiary institutions; memorial lecture, award presentations to distinguished Nigerians, and a medical outreach programme.
