Agba Accuses FG Of Allowing Influx Of Foreigners, Taking Over Nigerian Economy

Businessman and philanthropist, Chief Emeka Agba, the Founder and President of Chief Emeka Agba Foundation, has flayed the Federal Government for allowing foreigners to come into the into the country in large numbers and dominating its economic activities.

In an interview with Daily Independent on Friday, Agba, who is the Odagbulu Ihe Dagbulu Ihe Dagbulu Enyi 1 of Igboland, said that Nigeria is the only country in the world that allows all manner of people to come into their country and do whatever they like.

He stated that it is wrong for the government to allow foreigners to come into the country and do jobs that Nigerians can do.

According to Chief Agba, “How can the Federal Government allow people to allow foreigners who do not have skills to come into the country and do jobs that Nigerians can do.

“Many young Nigerians do not have jobs and the few ones that are available is being taken over by expatriates who are not as qualified as Nigerians.”

 He accused China and Lebanon of sending their people without requisite qualifications and experience to come into the jobs that young Nigerians can do.

He argued that if the trend continues, young Nigerians will not benefit from the economic policies of the government.

The Founder and President of Chief Emeka Agba Foundation argued that the economic policies of the President Bola Tinubu have brought inflation, unemployment and suffering to Nigerians.

According to him, since President Tinubu assumed office, inflation, unemployment and level of suffering have gone up.

He called on the President to fix the infrastructure challenges that face Nigerians.

He argued that Nigerian youths are not lazy, adding that if there is adequate supply of electricity in the country young people have sills and competences to create jobs for themselves.

He said that recently a large number of Chinese people were arrested where they were doing Yahoo yahoo, adding that several of them have been engaged in mining activities in the northern part of the country “exploiting our minerals and sending them to China. The Lebanese people, on other hand, come into the country and the next day set up shops like barbing salons and restaurants and nightclubs. “Even some of these people are just fronting those businesses and hide under it to indulge in all manner of illicit businesses, including drug trafficking and money laundering.

“We are fast losing our domestic market to foreigners who also produce and also set up retail shops here in Nigeria and sell both wholesale and retail. The worst of it is that there is no control price. Even recently Senator Adams Oshiomhole publicly condemned the government for allowing foreigners to come live like kings here when in their own country Nigerians are treated like criminals yet the foreigners in Nigeria commit more crime here in Nigeria than Nigerians will ever commit in their country. 

“During the time of Jonathan Goodluck, the government created local content policies that put Nigerians people first before foreigners. Foreigners extort money from Nigerians on a daily basis They set up big offices in highbrow areas in Abuja and Lagos. Nigerians queue up every morning in different embassies only for their visa applications to be denied after visa fees are paid. You take money from people and not issue visas, maybe five out of 100 applicants get visas. This is extortion,” he argued.
