Adeleke Buys ₦50,000 Worth Of Puff-Puff, Appoints Seller As Osun Govt. House Chef

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Thursday surprised a roadside puff-puff vendor in Osogbo when he purchased all her snacks for ₦50,000 and further offered her employment as a chef at the Government House.

The heartwarming incident occurred during a massive solidarity rally held by public servants in appreciation of the governor’s leadership and welfare initiatives since assuming office. Thousands of civil servants trooped out in support of Adeleke at the Osogbo event.

In a video from the rally, the governor was seen sitting inside his vehicle when he called the snack seller and inquired about the cost of her entire stock. Adeleke thereafter handed her a cash gift of ₦50,000 to the excitement of the cheering crowd. Onlookers immediately rushed to share from the puff-puff already purchased by the governor.

The governor later invited the woman into his vehicle, where one of his aides asked about her academic background. She disclosed that she holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE). When further questioned about her cooking skills, Adeleke instructed his aides to collect her contact details and facilitate her appointment as a chef at the Government House.

Confirming the development, the Commissioner II at the Osun State Civil Service Commission, Olaniyan Taofeek, shared the video on his X (formerly Twitter) page with the caption: “The moment Gov. Adeleke turned the life of a puff-puff seller into a Government House chef.”

Also corroborating the story, Oni Gbenga Lawrence, Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, wrote on X: “Moment Governor Ademola Adeleke turned the life of a puff-puff seller to Government Chef… not only ₦50k but he invited her into his car and employed her as chef in the Government House.”
