The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a warning to its members who still maintain allegiance to other political parties, urging them to resign immediately ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, gave the charge on Thursday, while addressing newsmen in Abuja after a caucus meeting attended by top party leaders and political figures.
“Though a final order has been given to all members to resign membership of other political parties, the caucus was silent on the timeline,” Abdullahi explained.

He stressed that loyalty to the ADC must be unquestionable if the party is to present a strong force in 2027.
The caucus also announced the conclusion of all matters relating to the African Democratic Association (ADA).
“The coalition has rested everything concerning the ADA. That means they are not interested in the registration or otherwise of the association,” Abdullahi added.
Speaking on preparations for the 2027 race, Abdullahi revealed that all ADC presidential aspirants had reached a consensus to support whoever emerges from the primaries.
“All the presidential aspirants have agreed to support whoever wins the primary election. This unity is what will strengthen us,” he noted.
He further disclosed that the National Working Committee (NWC) would soon announce dates for primaries in Osun and Ekiti States ahead of the off-cycle governorship elections.
