ADC Appoints Senator Nenadi As Kaduna Coalition Chair

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, as Kaduna State Coalition Chairman.

The party also appointed former Kaduna State Commissioner for Finance, Bashir Sa’idu, as Co-Chairman of the coalition in the state.

Addressing a press conference, the ADC National Vice Chairman (Northwest), Ja’afaru Sani, said the party is working on uniting opposition leaders in Kaduna under one platform to strengthen democracy and political inclusion.

According to him, the coalition leaders are committed to reorganising the ADC with the objective of mobilising citizens to unite and end what he described as “the current hopeless APC regime of tyranny in the state and the country.”

“As part of the strategic objective of ensuring the emergence of a disciplined leadership in the State, Sen. Nenadi Usman and Alh. Muhammad Bashir Saidu are hereby confirmed as Chairman and Co-Chairman, respectively, of the coalition in Kaduna State.

“With this decision, this will now be the rallying point of activities of the coalition and reorganizing the ADC in Kaduna State,” he said.

Sani accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to infiltrate and undermine the unity of opposition parties in the state, but vowed that the ADC would resist such moves.

“We noted that as part of the initiative to infiltrate and undermine the unity of opposition political leaders, some mercenary politicians have sponsored some willing tools to institute a court case against some leaders of the coalition, including Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and Mallam Jaafaru Sani, National Vice Chairman (North-West).

He further disclosed that coalition leaders had unanimously resolved to expell and blacklist members involved in instituting the case against some of the party’s national leaders, including Nasir El-Rufai, Ja’afaru Sani, among others.
