A Kaduna-based group, the Kaduna Good Governance Monitoring Group (KGGMG), has described the senator representing Kaduna Central, Lawal Adamu Usman, popularly known as ‘Mr. LA,’ as the “worst senator ever elected in the state’s history.”
In a statement signed by its coordinator, Bagudu Ibn Mohammed, the group accused the senator of failing to effectively represent his constituents, noting that he has remained silent on critical issues such as insecurity, economic hardship, and development challenges facing Kaduna State.
“For almost two years in the Senate, Mr. LA has failed to stand up on the floor to speak on pressing issues affecting his people. He has neither advocated for policies nor assisted constituents in accessing federal programs,” the statement read.
The group recalled that in 2024, the Kaduna Elders Forum had also expressed displeasure over Adamu’s alleged non-performance and called for his recall. It further noted that the Kaduna Peace and Tranquility Forum (KPTF) had similarly threatened to mobilize for his removal from the National Assembly.
“It is unfortunate that 28 months after his inauguration, none of the promises he made to the people have been fulfilled,” the statement added.
KGGMG questioned the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) lawmaker’s relevance ahead of 2027, saying: “How do you expect the people to support a lawmaker who never stands up to speak, rarely visits his seven local government areas, and has not brought any tangible development to the state through legislation?”
