The administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has finalized plans for the construction of the 24.1-kilometre Maiha–Mubi Road, a strategic project that is set to transform transportation and connectivity within the northern senatorial zone of Adamawa State. When completed, the road will ease the movement of goods and people between Maiha and Mubi, open up access to markets, stimulate cross-border trade with neighboring border communities , and enhance socio-economic opportunities for farming communities along the corridor.
Beyond road infrastructure, the Fintiri administration is also making significant investments in the health and education sectors, recognizing them as pillars of human capital development. Ongoing projects include the comprehensive upgrading of facilities at the General Hospital in Gulak, Madagali Local Government Area, which will not only modernize the hospital’s infrastructure but also improve patient care delivery and expand access to essential health services for thousands of residents in the northern axis of the state.
Similarly, the administration is advancing work at the College of Health Science and Technology in Michika, Michika Local Government Area. The project involves the expansion of training facilities, provision of modern teaching equipment, and improvement of the learning environment to enable the institution to produce more skilled health professionals. This is expected to bridge the manpower gap in the state’s healthcare system while offering young people greater opportunities for professional training and employment.
