
A famous philanthropist in Adamawa state, who is also the project coordinator of the North East Multi Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project , a federal government/ world bank intervention programme, Chief Maurice Vunobolki, Monday, lauded the vision and foresight of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for creating additional emirates and chiefdoms in the state.
He described the creation of emirates as a bold move that will trickle development down to the people at the grassroots.
He stated this in an interview with journalists in Gombi, at the official presentation of staff of office to the newly appointed Kumu Gombi, Aggreh B. Ali.
He said the decision to create new emirates and chiefdoms in the state is long overdue and necessary as it would go a long way to bring government closer to the people at the grassroots, enhance accountability and promote peace and development.
“This is a giant step by the executive governor of Adamawa state, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. The creation of these emirates and chiefdoms which are long overdue is a bold and necessary move to decentralise governance and ensure that development reaches the grassroots.
“It is about development, it is about accountability in governance and taking democracy to the people in a manner that makes it meaningful and acceptable,” he said.
