AC Milan have tabled a formal bid for the transfer of Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen.
Sky Sport journalist Patrick Berger revealed that the Nigeria international has already agreed personal terms with the Rossoneri.
He is now waiting for Bayer Leverkusen to give the green light.
The news has also been confirmed by transfer experts Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old striker, who impressed in his debut Bundesliga campaign, has emerged as Milan’s priority target with negotiations for Manchester United’s Rasmus Højlund proving difficult.
Højlund is pushing for a permanent transfer, while Milan remain hesitant, having even dispatched an intermediary to London for talks with the player’s father.
With the Højlund deal stalling, Milan appear ready to accelerate their pursuit of Boniface, and reports from Italy suggest an agreement could be reached in the coming days.
