A passenger train travelling from Abuja to Kaduna derailed on Tuesday morning, causing several carriages to overturn and sparking panic among passengers.

ARISE NEWS gathered that the incident occurred shortly after the train departed Abuja around 11 a.m., en route to Kaduna. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as passengers scrambled to safety amid fear and confusion.

The cause of the derailment remains unclear, and authorities have yet to confirm any injuries or casualties. Military personnel have been deployed to the scene to assist in evacuating stranded passengers and securing the area.

Officials are expected to release a formal statement regarding the incident, as emergency response teams continue to manage the situation.
