Abuja-Kaduna road now safe, I travelled without security — Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, the former presidential aide, says the
Abuja-Kaduna highway is now far safer than it used to be.

Addressing journalists during a tour on Thursday, Omokri
said the road has become safer under the administration of President Bola
Tinubu.

“I didn’t come here with security and I’m here, safe and
sound,” Omokri said.

“I have a lot of people who are political opponents to me. I
have a lot of people who want to see the worst happen to me. But yet, I’m here
to prove that this road is safe.”

Omokri said military outposts have been stationed at
intervals along the highway.

“Abuja to Kaduna road is safe. There are security outposts
at every kilometre. And those military outposts are mobile,” he said.

”The security is not just happening by faith, it is
happening by works of the government. Tinubu administration has done a lot of
work here.”

Omokri said he invited Wale Ojo, an Nollywood actor, on the
tour. He said Ojo had decided to film part of an action movie titled ‘Lagos
Heist’ on the highway to further show its safety.

“Wale Ojo has brought a hundred-man team and he is going to
shoot a movie. The movie was going to be done in Vegas, but I said no, do the
movie here in Nigeria,” he said.

Ojo, while addressing journalists, said he was impressed
with the security and construction work on the road.

“We know that Kaduna road has been attacked so much in the
past,” Ojo said.

“The government has done the work that needs to be done on
security. And they are doing the work that needs to be done on road
construction. I really want to film in the north, just to show unity amongst
Nigerians.”

Omokri also commended the durability of the road under
construction, saying it was being built with reinforced concrete and steel to
last at least 50 years.
