The Abia State Harmonized Task Force (ASHTF) has arrested eleven fake revenue collectors at Ehi road, Aba.

The fake revenue collectors were arrested on Sunday through the combined efforts of ASHTF and the police during an early morning raid led by Uche Wogu, the Aba area Coordinator of Abia State Harmonized Task Force.

The arrest of the illegal revenue collectors was disclosed by Miracle Chukwunenye, Media consultant of the ASHTF.

According to Chukwunenye, the team successfully arrested 11 suspects, who were taken to the Ndiegoro Police station in Aba.

He added that the suspects were allegedly collecting revenue on behalf of some communities with the claim that the assignment was given to them in 2017 by the Aba South Local Government Area.

Additionally, five auto mechanics whose activities posed obstruction or caused damage to major roads, were apprehended in the city and handed over to the Ndiegoro Police Division.

The Abia state Harmonized Taskforce warned fake revenue collectors to desist from their illegal activities or face prosecution even as it advised traders to only pay into the government account, and also report fake revenue agents to the Abia State government.
