A community leader, who spoke with our reporter, said the bandits demanded the ransom after they established contact with families of the victims.
He said the bandits also demanded for six motorcycles and foodstuffs, even as he said negotiations over the ransom were still ongoing.
The community leader further expressed concern over the displacement of residents of some communities, which include Impi, Gidan Makeri, Kutunku, Amana- Dam, Arikon and Anturu.
He appealed to the Kaduna State government, to as matter of urgency, come to the aid of the people of the affected communities by deploying more troops to the area in order to enable the fleeing villagers return to their homes.
The police in the area confirmed the incident but declined further comments.
