“The council is deeply committed to fighting crime and criminality,” he said, emphasizing that collaboration with security agencies, including the police and the army, has been intensified to monitor and reduce crime in the area.

On infrastructural development, the council chairman highlighted notable achievements in health, education, agriculture, and socio-economic growth.

“During the cholera outbreak in our council, we successfully contained it. We also ensured access to portable water for rural communities,” Nwogha stated.

He added that the council had drilled boreholes, launched campaigns against open defecation, and provided public toilets in markets, schools, and other community areas to promote hygiene.

“We also invested in road and bridge construction and built lock-up shops to support small and medium enterprises,” he noted.

Addressing youth empowerment, Nwogha said that the council has trained over 1,000 young people in various skills, providing each with starter packs to help reduce unemployment and discourage street loitering.

“These initiatives aim to create opportunities for our youths and reduce the number of idle hands on the streets,” he said, urging them to embrace government policies on job creation and strive for self-reliance.
