AAU Ekpoma Gets New Deputy Vice-Chancellors

In her maiden Senate meeting as the 9th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Prof. (Mrs) Eunice Omonzejie presented the names of two esteemed Professors to the Senate for approval.

The nominees were Professor Andrew Omon Eromonsele, who will serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), and Professor Osagie Ekhator, who will serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

The Vice-Chancellor explained that the appointments are necessary to complete the full complement of principal officers required to kick-start her administration on a solid foundation.

She sought the Senate’s approval for the nominations, which was unanimously given.

The Vice-Chancellor however emphasized that “the expertise of these two professors would be invaluable in strengthening the administration.

Professor Andrew Omon Eromonsele is a Professor of Sociology at Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma.

He holds a B.Sc; M.Sc, and PhD in Sociology from the Universities of Ibadan, Benin, and Ambrose Alli University, respectively.

His areas of specialization include Sociology of Development, Workplace, Gender studies, Health, and illness, and Rural Communalism.

He has published numerous academic papers and attended conferences, workshops, and seminars at national, regional, and international platforms.

Professor Eromonsele is a member of several professional groups, including the Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Industrial Relations Association, and American Sociological Association.

He has held various positions, including Acting Head of Department of Sociology and Sub-Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences.

The new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Osagie Ekhator is a Professor of Limnology and Algology at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

He is a dedicated teacher, researcher, and mentor with outstanding contributions to freshwater ecology and phytoplankton studies.

His research focuses on using algae as indicators of water quality and ecosystem health, and he has published numerous papers in reputable journals.

Beyond academia, Prof. Ekhator is a multifaceted personality – a prolific writer, author, actor, and gospel film producer.

He serves in various leadership capacities, including Chairman of the Edo State Chapter of ANCEDRAM, and has founded the P. I. Ekhator Foundation, which supports education and ministry development.

As Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), he brings a vision for academic excellence, research innovation, and character-based education to Ambrose Alli University.

With the appointment of these Deputy Vice Chancellors, Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma now has the full complement of principal officers required to kick-start full management and administration of the institution.
