“The opportunities I’ve had to perform at such significant events have truly shaped my career and passion.”
DJ A-Tech’s journey into music began in his childhood, but it was in high school that his passion for DJing and technology truly took off. “I’ve been passionate about music for as long as I can remember. Back in high school, I would save my pocket money just to download songs on my mobile phone,” he recalls.
Today, DJ A-Tech is a respected name in the music industry, known for his versatility as a performing DJ, music producer, curator, and entertainer.
With his skillful remixes, mixtapes, EPs, edits, original music features, and the infusion of percussion into his tracks, his captivating stage presence marks a significant transformation from the high school student who once dreamed of becoming a DJ.
On January 06, 2022, The Reset was released on all digital Platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Boomplay, Youtube, and Audiomack.
It is a collection of remixes and edits of three tracks he originally featured in: Opa Eyin with Classykinging (released in 2017), Ginger featuring Rhotimi Illz, Ludar, and Generous Ibile (also released in 2017), and Like That with Oscar Dice (released in 2019).
This project is a true reflection of his artistry and versatility as a music producer. The Reset breathes new life into these well- loved songs, showcasing DJ A-Tech’s ability to create something fresh while staying true to the essence of the originals.
1) Opa Eyin ft Classykinging: A Smooth Start

Opa Eyin kicks off the collection with vibrant energy. The original was already catchy, with Classykinging’s vocals leading the charge. The song tells the story of fans experiencing body aches after partying all night with the artists (DJ A-Tech and Classykinging) and needing local medication (Opa Eyin) to recover from the fun night.
Opa Eyin is a traditional Nigerian remedy for back and body pain, which is also known for its use as an aphrodisiac.DJ A-Tech’s remix builds on this foundation, adding his signature live percussion, particularly with the congas, which introduce a lively, almost tribal element to the track.
The remix retains the infectious groove of the original while giving it a more polished, club-friendly vibe that makes it feel fresh.
What stands out is how DJ A-Tech stays true to the song’s essence while injecting it with extra energy, making it perfect for a night out or the dancefloor. The transitions between sections are smooth, and the rhythm is tight, keeping the listener engaged throughout.
DJ A-Tech’s ability to highlight Classykinging’s vocals while enhancing the track with his production and traditional feel is impressive, setting the tone for the rest of the compilation.
2) Ginger ft Rhotimi Illz, Ludar and Generous Ibile: Amplified Energy

Next up, Ginger brings a heavier, more intense energy. This remix ups the tempo and introduces deep basslines, making it feel much more dynamic than the original. The beat hits harder, and the rhythm is more complex, giving it a danceable feel that’s impossible to ignore.
The song is about how fans draw energy and motivation from the "ginger" (a slang term in Nigeria for motivation).
Rhotimi Illz’s voice on the Yoruba chorus and hook, along with Ludar and Generous Ibile’s sensational Yoruba Indigenous rap, already had a strong presence—now, it’s supported by a mix of electronic and Afrobeat-inspired elements, adding an international edge.
While the track’s energy is undeniably infectious, there are moments where the layers of effects and percussion can feel a bit crowded. This isn’t necessarily a drawback, as it adds a sense of fullness, but at times, the vocals could have been more prominent.
Still, DJ A-Tech showcases his versatility here, blending different genres to create a remix that appeals to a broader audience. The high energy and catchy beats make it a standout track on the collection.
3) Like That ft Oscar Dice: The Party On

The collection closes with Like That, and it’s an anthem in every sense of the word. The original track was already uplifting, but DJ A-Tech takes it to new heights with an energetic remix that gives the song a club-ready vibe.
The song playfully questions whether the ladies can keep up with the dance moves of the musicians (DJ A-Tech and Oscar Dice) on the dance floor, which is reflected in the title. The beat drops hard, and the rhythm is fast-paced, but it’s the way DJ A-Tech layers the synths, bass, and percussion (talking drums and congas) that really makes this remix pop.
Oscar Dice's vocal performance is given even more energy in the remix, with him delivering the verses and chorus while A-Tech adds catchy hooks, creating a track full of life and movement.
This is where DJ A-Tech truly shines, showcasing his ability to create something that not only retains the original vibe but also infuses it with an entirely new layer of energy.
The track builds and evolves, with smooth transitions that keep the flow going without feeling forced. By the time the track reaches its peak, it’s undeniable: this remix is made for the dancefloor.
Conclusion:
The concept of remixing tracks years after their release isn’t new, but what stands out about this collection is how DJ A-Tech has managed to reinvent these songs without losing the essence of what made them popular in the first place.
The three remixes offer a variety of vibes, ranging from high-energy club bangers to laid-back grooves, all unified by DJ A-Tech’s signature sound.
The Reset collection is a great example of DJ A-Tech’s growth as a producer and his deep understanding of how to elevate a track while preserving the essence of the original song. For fans of Afrobeat, EDM, and everything in between, these remixes are a must-listen.
DJ A-Tech’s work has the potential to continue setting trends in the Nigerian music scene and beyond. The tracks not only showcase his technical expertise but also solidify his position as an exceptional multi- talented music producer and performing DJ, making him one of the most innovative forces in the music industry today.
