…..Recovers Narcotics in Ningi LGA
The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended one Mr Ogbu Simon, a suspected narcotics dealer, and recovered 17,500 sachets of Tramadol along with 487 packages of Diazepam (D 5), commonly referred to as “Yellow Voice.”
This was contained in a press statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, and made available to journalists in Bauchi.
According to CSP Wakil, on the 26th November 2025 at about 2000 hours, based on credible intelligence provided by a concerned citizen, police operatives from the Ningi Divisional Police Headquarters responded to reports of suspicious sacks being uploaded at a shop owned by Mr Ogbu Simon.
He said that the suspect is alleged to supply narcotics from Onitsha. Anambra State to the Ningi Local Government Area and surrounding regions.
“In response to this intelligence, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ningi, CSP Surajo Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, executed a strategic raid on the shop located within Ningi town. The operation resulted in the seizure of four bags containing suspected Diazepam (D 5) and Tramadol tablets.”
“The Commissioner of Police directed that the case be transferred to the Bauchi State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough and discreet investigation.”
“Furthermore, the command assigned the Operation Restore Peace (ORP) unit to conduct an exhaustive investigation and to apprehend the suspect. Under the leadership of CSP Abdulrazak Fada, the team successfully arrested the individual, who confessed to being a dealer supplying drugs to various markets within and outside Ningi, the statement read.
The PPRO said that the following items were recovered from the suspect to include 17,500 sachets of suspected Tramadol tablets contained in polythene bags, 487 packs of suspected D 5 Diazepam (Yellow Voice), contained in sacks, adding that the estimated total value of the recovered narcotics is approximately ₦ 12.2 million.
He said that the suspect, along with the exhibit, will be officially handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Bauchi, for further investigation and diligent prosecution accordingly.
He said that the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani Omolori Aliyu, affirms his unwavering commitment to combating drug-related crimes and urged the public to remain calm and continue cooperating with law enforcement authorities in the prevention, mitigation, and control of crime and criminality.
