Clark Varsity Records 100% NUC Accreditation Success Across All Programmes – VC

Edwin Clark University, Kiagbodo in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta has recorded 100% accreditation success in all National Universities Commission (NUC) evaluations just as it has expanded from two to five fully functional faculties and Post graduate School.

This was disclosed by Prof. Samuel Tita Wara, Vice Chancellor, Edwin Clark University, Kiagbodo at the Combined 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th Convocation Ceremonies where 463 graduates that included nine pioneer registered Nurses and Midwives, three Postgraduates students (first Postgraduates Class), two honorary doctorate awardee, High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and Mr. Abimbade A. Adeshina among other students convocated.

According to Prof. Wara, “since establishment in 2015, Edwin Clark University has expanded from two Faculties to five fully functional Faculties and a Postgraduate School. We currently offer 22 fully accredited academic programmes with 100% accreditation success across all NUC evaluations. Planned programmes for the near future includes Public Health, Unbundling of Mass Communication, Cyber Security, Software Engineering among others.”

The Vice Chancellor charged the graduating students to be bridge builders, promote inclusion, integrity and innovation, adding, “be voices of transformation in every sector, stay connected to your alma mata, let your life be a reflection of excellence, service and grace. Remember, “you were educated not just to make a living, but to make a difference “

In his speech, Prof. Oladapo A. Afolabi, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University disclosed that the University has fostered development among staff and students, ensured discipline, accountability and visibility as key structures.

According to Prof. Afolabi, “little wonder NUC ranked the University as 25th overall and 6th among private universities in 2023. To maintain this tempo, uphold standards and the culture of excellence, Council in it’s meet of Thursday, November 27, 2025 resolved to sustain and maintain all the academic rules and regulations from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), other regulators/accrediting bodies, Departments, Faculties and Senate in their specific and general terms.,”

Prof Afolabi paid glowing tribute to the memory of Chief Dr. Edwin K. Clark, Founder of the University for his dreams and vision, he commended the Bayelsa State Government, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Niger Delta Development Commission, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, NUC and individuals too numerous to mention for their support to the University.

Earlier, Dr. Collins Christopher Clark, Chairman, Edwin Kiagbodo Clark Foundation/ Chancellor of the University said that the Combined Convocation ceremony was a testament to the realization of Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark,’s audacious dream.

Dr. Clark listed some of the University’s achievements in academic excellence and rankings to include”in 2021, we ranked 1st among all private universities in the South-South Geo-political Zone, ranked 17th among 98 private universities nationally, ranked 32nd among all universities, Federal, State and private. In 2024 Times Higher Education Rating, our university ranked 8th among private universities and ranked 25th among all universities nationally.”

High point of the ceremony was the award of degrees and conferment of Honorary doctorate degrees on deserving persons.
