Turkish humanitarian organisation, Sadakatasi, has entered into a strategic partnership with the AA Zaura Foundation International, to sponsor the rehabilitation of vulnerable youths under the Foundation’s flagship Streets to Straight project.
The commitment was announced in Istanbul during a high-level meeting between the President of Sadakatasi Turkiye, Kemal Ozdel, and the President of AA Zaura Foundation International, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkarim Zaura.
A statement from the Foundation said discussions focused on expanding intervention models, strengthening funding support, and scaling rehabilitation programmes for street-connected youths, drug-dependent young persons and socially displaced adolescents, including members of the daba groups.
SPONSOR AD
Ozdel reaffirmed Sadakatasi’s commitment to providing financial sponsorship, psychosocial support, and capacity-building resources to assist in the transformation and reintegration of beneficiaries.
He said the partnership would bolster the operational capacity of the Streets to Straight project, which has continued to attract national and international interest for its focus on youth rehabilitation and crime prevention.
Alhaji Zaura described the collaboration as “a transformative step toward restoring dignity and hope to thousands of young people who deserve a second chance at life.”
He commended Sadakatasi for its humanitarian vision, expressing optimism that the partnership would accelerate implementation and deepen the project’s impact across communities in northern Nigeria.
The statement added that the partnership aligns with growing interest from government agencies, development partners, private institutions and civil society groups who have increasingly supported efforts to rehabilitate vulnerable youths.
Implementation of the partnership is expected to commence immediately, with structures already being strengthened to ensure accountability, sustainability and measurable outcomes for beneficiaries.
