As tensions over unresolved negotiations with the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union.of Universities (ASUU), grow, the union has called for an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

The union has named the meeting as crucial, and it is taking place today at the Festus Lyayi Building at the University of Abuja.

The Chapter chairpersons and key leaders from universities across the country are already in the capital as of Saturday.

A source close to UNIABUJA informed that the meeting is set to start and there are both NEC members and zonal coordinators who arrived before the closed-door session.
