APC Chairman Visits Gov Bago Over Abduction of St. Mary’s Schoolchildren

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on Wednesday led members of the party’s National Working Committee on a solidarity visit to Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, over the recent abduction of schoolchildren from St. Mary’s Primary School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area.

Speaking at the Government House in Minna, Prof. Yilwatda said the hearts of the party’s leadership and members are heavy and that the APC stands firmly with the government and people of Niger State in this trying moment.

“We deplore the rising wave of kidnappings across the country, particularly the disturbing pattern in which they now occur. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the missing children,” he said.

The APC chairman commended security agencies for the efforts being made under the direct supervision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence that the abducted pupils of St. Mary’s School will soon be rescued unharmed.

Prof. Yilwatda also praised Governor Bago for his developmental achievements and for fostering religious harmony in Niger State, describing it as a model for the nation at a time of heightened tension.

In his response, Governor Umaru Bago thanked the APC national chairman and the NWC delegation for the visit, calling it a demonstration of true brotherhood within the ruling party.

He solicited continued prayers for the safe return of the children and for lasting peace across Nigeria, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peaceful coexistence among all religious and ethnic groups in the state.
