Italy legend Gianfranco Zola believes Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s philosophy is having a positive effect on the team.

He made this known on the backdrop of Chelsea’s 3-0 thrashing of Barcelona in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League at Stamford Bridge.

In a chat with Sky Sports, Zola stated that he was confident Maresca will not only succeed but bring good organization to the team.

“The Blues have enormous room for improvement.

“There are several young players in the squad who are destined to make an ever-increasing impact.

“I studied Maresca before he arrived in London: he brought extraordinary organisation to Leicester, and he’s doing the same with Chelsea.

“He’s brought order, clarity, a clear style of play, and a very clear identity. His philosophy is very effective.”
