Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has provided an update on how the Biafra agitator is faring in prison in Sokoto State.
Ejimakor said that, much like Nelson Mandela endured Robben Island, Kanu is enduring imprisonment in Sokoto State.
Posting on X after visiting Kanu, Ejimakor wrote: “I just exited from meeting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in #SokotoPrison.
“He remains indomitable and expressed his profound gratitude to all who have stood by him.
“Like Nelson Mandela endured ‘Robben Island’ & triumphed, #MNK is enduring Sokoto with resilience & strength.”
Earlier, Ejimakor, alongside Kanu’s wife, Uchechi, and Kanu’s brother, Prince, had visited the IPOB leader in prison.
Kanu was moved to the Sokoto custodial centre following a judgment issued by Justice James Omotosho of the Abuja Federal High Court who sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of charges relating to terrorism.
