Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, has arrived in Sokoto State for a scheduled visit to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Ejimakor arrived on Wednesday alongside Kanu’s wife, Uchechi Okwu-Kanu, and his brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, to meet the separatist leader, who is currently serving a life sentence.
Kanu was recently convicted by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja on terrorism-related charges and subsequently transferred to the Sokoto State Custodial Centre to begin his sentence.
Announcing their arrival on X, Ejimakor urged the Igbo community to intensify efforts to secure Kanu’s release.
“I just arrived Sokoto (with Prince Emmanuel Kanu & his wife) to have a visitation with MAZI NNAMDI KANU,” he wrote. “Ndigbo must vigorously rise to the urgent task of freeing #MNK from this ordeal and injustice that reflect on all of us.”
