Super Eagles and Panathinaikos centre-forward Cyriel Dessers has congratulated his ex-teammate Denis Odoi upon his move to Dutch Eredivisie club NAC Breda, Soccernet.ng reports.
Dessers had his breakout season with NAC Breda in the 2016/2017 season, where he scored 29 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions as the club chased top-flight status.
Before joining NAC, the Belgium-born Nigerian played for Pro League club Lokeren and OH Leuven, where he was teammates with Odoi, whom he describes as his mentor.
The 37-year-old veteran can play as a central defender, right-back, and a defensive midfielder and has racked up over 600 career appearances playing for OH Leuven, St. Truiden, Anderlecht, Lokeren, Fulham, Club Brugge, Royal Antwerp, and now, NAC Breda.

Cyriel Dessers delighted for Denis Odoi
The former Rangers striker has always been very fond of his time in Holland, given he played for NAC, FC Utrecht, Heracles and Feyenoord.

He’s now told his friend the atmosphere at his former club is second to none, urging him to find a new home at NAC.
“I told Denis that he can’t get to a better place than NAC,” the 30-year-old said in quotes revealed by VI Netherlands.
“If there are question marks about why he did not have a club, he has had several offers this summer.
“These transfers are often questioned because of his age. That’s something I see a lot in current football.
“They are increasingly looking for younger players. Just to be able to sell them through, but I believe that you should never forget what it is really about: that on Saturday or Sunday, the game must be won on the field.
“Denis fits perfectly with NAC,” the one-time SPFL Golden Boot winner concluded.

Dessers recently returned to training for Panathinaikos after suffering an injury in the Europa League game against Young Boys two months ago
