Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday chaired a crucial meeting of the Lagos State Security Council to review the current security situation across the state and strengthen ongoing measures to safeguard residents.
In a post-meeting statement shared on his official social media handles, the governor described the session as frank and productive, emphasising that the protection of lives and property in Lagos remains an absolute priority for his administration.
“Today, I met with the State Security Council to take a closer look at our security situation and ensure we are responding with clarity and good judgment,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.“
Protecting the peace of Lagos is non-negotiable. I value the honest conversations around the table and the shared commitment to protecting the peace of our state,” he added.
Reaffirming his personal dedication to the safety of all Lagosians, the governor declared: “I remain committed to the peace and security of lives and property of all Lagosians.”
Although specific details of the deliberations were not disclosed, sources close to the Government House indicated that the meeting focused on intelligence sharing, rapid-response strategies, and enhanced collaboration among security agencies operating in the state.
The emergency session comes amid heightened vigilance by the state government to prevent any breakdown of law and order and to sustain Lagos as one of Nigeria’s safest and most secure states.
