Nigerian musician Teni the Entertainer has sparked reactions on social media after firmly dismissing a fan who approached her online for financial assistance.
The young man had taken to X to appeal for help in purchasing a suit ahead of his convocation ceremony scheduled for the next day.

The tweep, @lyyrree said …
“Mummy of lagos, tomorrow is my convocation and I have not bought suit. Help me!”
Teni lambasts fan
Rather than offering support, Teni responded bluntly, questioning why he would turn to her instead of seeking help from people close to him.
Her reply quickly drew mixed comments, with some users applauding her for discouraging what they see as a pattern of entitlement and casual online begging, while others felt she could have responded with more empathy.
