English Premier League club Fulham shared a video on Tuesday showing Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey presenting Samuel Chukwueze with his first award at the club, Soccernet.ng reports.
Chukwueze announced himself to Fulham fans on Saturday after providing the assist for Raúl Jiménez’s goal in their 1-0 victory over Sunderland at Craven Cottage.
The 26-year-old started the game on the bench but was introduced in the 64th minute when coach Marco Silva decided to switch things up in attack.

Chukwueze shone brightly. In fact, he impacted the game far more than any other player on the pitch.
Aside from his assist, he created one big chance, delivered five key passes, completed two successful dribbles, registered two ball recoveries, and totaled 28 touches. It came as no surprise that Fulham fans eventually voted him as the Man of the Match.

At Fulham, players voted as Man of the Match are called the “Legend of the Match,” which typically comes with a trophy.
Chukwueze received his trophy on Tuesday at Fulham’s training facility at Motspur Park in New Malden, London.

Both players, alongside Alex Iwobi, represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles, and they have a very good rapport.
Samuel Chukwueze is yet to start a game for Fulham since he joined the club in the summer transfer window.

However, if he continues to produce performances like the one he did against Sunderland last weekend, coach Marco Silva will likely start giving him more minutes.
