TNN In Parley With ADC, Other Parties Ahead Of 2027

The leadership of Team New Nigeria (TNN), a political group, says it is holding talks with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political parties in Abuja this weekend as part of efforts to build a coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.

National Secretary of the TNN National Communication Bureau, Professor Morgan Sarki Gambo, confirmed the development in an interview with Daily Trust last night.

He said the association was engaging several registered political parties besides the ADC. “Although these talks are ongoing, final agreements particularly with the ADC may be reached next month,” he stated.

Gambo explained that while nothing concrete had yet emerged from the discussions, the primary objective was to strengthen social cohesion, nation building and democratic participation.

He said the coalition would undertake common programmes against tribalism, nepotism and other forms of intolerance. “We will work together in good faith and seek to build consensus on the formation of a government where no party has an outright majority, on the basis of the above shared values and minimum programme, and in the interest of all Nigerians,” he added.

The group accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of deliberately frustrating its efforts to register TNN as a political party.

Despite this, Gambo said the association would go ahead to unveil its proposed manifesto, titled Building a New Nigeria Together, which outlines plans to reset the economy, alleviate hardship, end insecurity and promote good governance.

He expressed satisfaction with the growth of the movement, disclosing that TNN had recorded 43 million members nationwide. He said personnel and materials had been deployed to all 36 states and the FCT for the takeoff of membership registration, which resumes on December 6.

According to him, the exercise will be conducted in all INEC‑designated polling units, with a chairman and secretary already assigned to each state and the FCT.
