Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and registered as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, signalling a major shift in his political journey.

Atiku shared the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account, posting a photo of himself holding the ADC membership card. The post was captioned: “It’s official. – AA”.

The registration ceremony took place on Monday, following Atiku’s announcement to ADC supporters and state holders over the weekend to witness the event.

Addul Rasheeth, an aide to former vice president had confirmed the development in a statement. Videos and photos from the event showed Atiku arriving the town to the cheers of supporters.

This move marks a significant step for the opposition party, which has long been seeking high-profile members to strengthen its profile.
