The Paramount Ruler of Idoma Kingdom, His Majesty Agaba’Idu, Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaju John, CON, reaffirmed the bond between Idoma Kingdom and Ondo Kingdom during a courtesy call on the Osemawe And Paramount Ruler Of Ondo Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo Jilo III, CFR.

“I bring you greetings from the land of the Red Earth, Idoma Kingdom, a land renowned for dignity, courage, hospitality, and deeply rooted cultural heritage,” the Och’ Idoma said.

He expressed gratitude for the rare privilege of the royal engagement, symbolising the enduring nobility of their traditional institutions and the timeless honour that binds ancient thrones together.

“Today signifies more than a courtesy call; it’s a reaffirmation of unity between Idoma Kingdom of Benue State and Ondo Kingdom of Ondo state—two kingdoms with proud histories, strong values, and visionary leadership,” he stated.

The Och’ Idoma highlighted the shared values between the two kingdoms, including a commitment to peace and stability, cultural preservation, and moral leadership.

“We share a passion for education, youth empowerment, and community development, and a shared belief in inter-ethnic cooperation and national unity,” he said.

He emphasised the importance of cultural exchange and educational partnerships in strengthening the ties between their kingdoms.

The Och’ Idoma praised the progress made by Wesley University, Ondo, and encouraged youths across Idoma land to seek admission into the institution.

“I was especially delighted that two of my distinguished sons, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, and Professor Samuel Obeka Sunday, Vice Chancellor of Wesley University, Ondo, are both Chancellor and Vice Chancellor respectively and key contributors to the growth and development of the institution,” he said.

He expressed gratitude for the honour of a chieftaincy title to be conferred on Professor Samuel Sunday Obeka, stating that it transcended personal recognition and was a testament to the enduring bonds of trust, respect, and inter-kingdom brotherhood.

“To consider him worthy of a respected chieftaincy title within this ancient and noble kingdom is a gesture that transcends personal recognition,” he said.

“It is a testament to enduring bonds of trust, respect, and inter-kingdom brotherhood that our forefathers envisioned and upheld,” he added.

The Och’ Idoma emphasised the importance of the title, urging the recipient to conduct himself with dignity, wisdom, and restraint.

“A title holder who speaks or acts recklessly in public risks desecrating the throne that honoured him,” he said.

“Only through decorum, humility, and disciplined behaviour can any title holder remain worthy of the distinction bestowed upon him,” he added.

The Och’ Idoma also acknowledged the courtesies extended to him during his visit to Wesley University, Ondo.

He commended the university’s commitment to excellence and its rising influence in shaping leaders for the nation.

The visit, he said, was a symbol of the enduring nobility of their traditional institutions and the timeless honour that binds ancient thrones together. He expressed confidence that the royal engagement would strengthen the bonds between the two kingdoms and expand the frontiers of cooperation.

The Och’ Idoma emphasised the importance of youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and regional cooperation in fostering socio-economic development.
