Team New Nigeria (TNN), a political group seeking registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced that it has registered over 43 million members across the country and will commence a fresh nationwide membership drive on December 6, 2025.
The decision was taken at the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) held last weekend. In a statement signed by Prof. Morgan Sarki Gambo, Secretary, National Communication Bureau, TNN, the body also approved the establishment of a National Conference Organising Committee to oversee preparations for the group’s forthcoming national convention.
According to the statement, the BoT resolved to review the association’s membership base and resume registration simultaneously in all 774 local government areas.

“The registration shall start from the ward level in each of the eight thousand, eight hundred and nine (8,809) council wards in Nigeria. All registration materials will be made available to ward officials by Thursday, December 4, 2025,” it said.
TNN leaders at state, senatorial district, local government, and ward levels have been directed to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible process. The group emphasised that there shall be no registration by proxy, adding that the forms are free of charge and “NOT FOR SALE.” The exercise will be officially declared open in Abuja on December 4.
TNN recalled that its online and physical registration first commenced on December 15, 2023, and has since recorded 43,607,700 transactions, making it “the greatest crowd‑pulling platform in Nigeria today.” The group disclosed that 52 percent of all transactions were recorded in the first 11 months of 2025, with young people accounting for 56 percent of online users, while women and persons with disabilities make up 49.6 percent.
In preparation for its National Conference scheduled for December in Abuja, the BoT approved the participation of executive members from national, state, senatorial, local government, and ward levels. Altogether, 52,372 delegates are expected.
TNN also expressed concern over what it described as “unnecessary delays” by INEC in registering it as a political party. It said leaders will engage in coalition talks with registered parties.
“We have set up a National Political Management Committee (PMC) to develop a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy for forming alliances and establishing a genuinely democratic government in Nigeria,” the statement added.
