Kebbi abduction: Nigerians laud Tinubu over swift action

Northern Nigerian Peace groups have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his swift actions that led to the rescue of 25 female students of Government Girls Secondary School kidnapped last week in Maga town of Kebbi state.

This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen by chairman of the groups, Dr. Uman Aboki

The group applauded the President’s directives to the minister of state defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle to relocate to Kebbi state for effective mobilisation and monitoring of strategies in rescuing the abducted students and their Principal.

The group called on political class to stop celebrating abductions of innocent children because of political differences.

He alleged desperate political opponents are taking advantage of the situation to blackmail President Bola Tinubu.

He said, “It’s unfortunate that some people  went to the media to insult Vice President Kashim Shettima when he visited the state on the directive of President Tinubu to console and  sympathise with the people of Kebbi state

“It’s  high time for the Presidency caution some known unscrupulous politicians that are playing politics with issue of insecurity, particularly governor of Zamfara state, Dauda Lawal and his cohorts.

“They celebrated recent kidnappings and attacks by bandits and other criminal elements across the nation.

“They are now fully involved in writing negative commentaries  mocking our gallant troops over  abductions particularly in the north west region.

“The statement issued by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Zamfara is unbecoming and lacks decorum over their unprintable words against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu decision to send the state minister of defense, Mohammed Bello Matawalle to relocate to Kebbi and monitor security situation and ensure that those girls are rescued.

“Taking personal hatred and displaying same on the issue of national security is irresponsible.

“While condemning the Zamfara state government and those sponsoring  campaign of columny against the President’s decision on the ways to bring back the kidnapped victims home, we endorsed the action taken by Presidency.

“It is a very sad situation to all Nigerians because escalating  insecurity challenges will affect entire nation, and its not about personality.

“The incessant attacks and kidnapping is nothing but creation of certain enemies of the country, who wants use such opportunities to destroy our well being, unity and progress. “
