The Prof. Deremi Abubakre-led All Progressive Congress (APC) Caucus of Ayedire, Iwo and Ola-Oluwa Local Government Area of Osun has endorsed Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) for the 2026 Osun governorship.

The caucus also asked for the zoning of the governorship slot to the Osun West, adding that the senatorial zone has never produced a governor since the return to democratic rule in 1999 and before.

A statement by the caucus disclosed that Oyebamiji is suited to be the gubernatorial candidate with the primaries coming up in Dec. 13.

‘’Osun West Senatorial District has never produced a governor, unlike Osun East and Central, both of which have had multiple governors since 1999 and before. Despite this historical exclusion, Osun West has consistently delivered overwhelming support for the Progressive family.

‘’In consideration of historical fairness, equity, and political strategy, the caucus urges the APC national leadership, party elders, and stakeholders, especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to zone the 2026 governorship ticket to Osun West and rally behind Alhaj Munirudeen Oyebamiji’s candidacy.’’

The caucus said the AMBO’s leadership track record, spanning his roles as Commissioner for Finance, Managing Director of OSICOL, and Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, demonstrated his capacity, integrity, and vision to lead Osun State to greater progress.

‘’Equity strengthens unity. Justice sustains peace. Fairness ensures victory,’’ the caucus said.(NAN)
