Manchester City goalkeeper Gigio Donnarumma has disclosed that Erling Haaland played a key role in his decision to sign for the Citizens.
Recall that the Italian goalkeeper completed a £26 million switch to the Etihad from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Since his move to City from Paris on deadline day, Donnarumma has built a close friendship with the club’s star forward, Haaland.
In an interaction with Sky Sports, the Italy international opened up on his close bond with the Norwegian goal machine.

“When I had the opportunity to come here, he (Haaland) wrote to me. He pushed for me to come here, and I am very grateful for that.
“He is a really good friend – and it’s good that I play with him, because it’s very difficult to play against him. He is an alien.
“I didn’t expect to have such a positive impact in the Premier League straight away.
“But the team has helped me a lot. From the moment I arrived here I have felt very welcome.”
