UEFA Champions League: Diaz handed 3-match ban ahead of Arsenal clash

UEFA has handed Bayern Munich forward Luis Díaz a three-match suspension following his red card in the Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

The European football body stated that Díaz was sanctioned for “serious rough play” after a late challenge on PSG defender Achraf Hakimi during first-half stoppage time at the Parc des Princes.

Díaz had earlier scored twice to put Bayern in control of the encounter, which ended 2–1 in favour of the German champions.

The ruling means the Colombia international will miss Bayern’s visit to Arsenal on Wednesday, as well as the home fixtures against Sporting CP on December 9 and Union Saint-Gilloise on January 21.

Bayern currently sit at the top of their Champions League group with maximum points from four matches.
