Google launches Nano Banana Pro on Gemini 3 to boost new wave of AI creators in Nigeria

Google has launched Nano Banana Pro, a new image generation and editing model built on the reasoning power of Gemini 3 Pro. The model gives users more control over how their images look, whether they are designing posters, creating infographics, or editing photos with precise detail.

The company claims that Nano Banana Pro is capable of handling tasks that older AI image tools struggled with, particularly generating clear and readable text within images. It also supports more complex scenes by allowing users to mix multiple reference photos to maintain consistency in characters or branding.

Google believes this launch is arriving at the right time for Nigerian users, as interest in AI tools for learning, design, and content creation has grown rapidly. According to Google, searches for “AI for studying” in Nigeria have risen sharply in the past year, alongside “AI for graphic design,” which remains one of the country’s top creative-focused queries.

More control for creators, designers and students

One of the biggest upgrades in Nano Banana Pro is that it can generate visuals that draw from real information. Because it connects to Google’s search knowledge base, users can create diagrams, infographics, recipes, or sports visuals that reflect accurate, up-to-date details.

The model can also produce legible text directly inside images, something many AI image systems still struggle with. This supports designers working on banners, ad mockups, school presentations and social media campaigns where typography must be sharp and readable.

For users working on complex scenes, Google says Nano Banana Pro allows up to 14 reference images in one prompt. This makes it easier for brands or content creators to maintain the same look across multiple visuals, whether they are building characters, product shots, or themed campaigns.

Another major feature is advanced editing control. Users can shift camera angles, adjust focus, change lighting condition, from day to night, and export the final work in high-resolution 2K or 4K. For Nigerian creators who rely on mobile devices for production, this offers more flexibility without needing heavy editing software.

New verification tools and wider availability

To improve transparency, Google has rolled out a verification option inside the Gemini app. Users can upload any image and ask whether it was generated by Google AI, thanks to an invisible SynthID watermark embedded in every AI-generated image.

Google also says Ultra-tier subscribers will no longer see the visible Gemini watermark on their images, although the invisible watermark remains active.

Nano Banana Pro is now rolling out globally. Nigerian users can access it through the Gemini app under the “Thinking” model, while developers and businesses can use it through Google Ads, Slides, Vids, the Gemini API and Vertex AI.
