Bayelsa Queens head coach Whyte Ogbonda is upbeat his side will have a positive outing against Police Ladies of Ghana.
The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, champions will face Police Ladies in their opening fixture of the 2025 WAFU B Women’s Champions League on Sunday (today).
The Group B encounter will hold at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, Yamoussoukro.
Ogbonda Declares War On Police Ladies
“We respect every opponent we meet on this stage because every team that qualifies here has quality,” Ogbonda was quoted by the Super Falcons Show.
“Police Ladies are strong, organized, and they play with a lot of heart. We have watched some of their videos but, we also know what we have in our arsenal, experience, speed, creativity, and the hunger to win. Our focus is on executing our game plan with precision.”
Faith In Players’ Ability
Ogbonda also expressed faith in his players’ ability to rise to the occasion.
“This is a team full of leaders and talents. From the forwards to the defenders, everyone understands their role. I believe strongly that they will deliver when it matters most,” Ogbonda added.
“We are here not just to participate but to compete and to win. Our target is qualification, but beyond that, we want to continue writing history for Bayelsa Queens and Nigerian women’s football. Today’s game is the first step, and we are ready.”
