Court To Deliver Judgement In Nnamdi Kanu’s Terrorism Trial On Live TV

The Federal High Court in Abuja will deliver judgement on Thursday in the alleged terrorism trial of Nnamdi Kanu, with the proceedings scheduled for live broadcast.

The court registrar confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday morning.

Cameramen from major television stations, including NTA, Channels TV, AIT and TVC, were already in the courtroom with their broadcast equipment for the live transmission.

The trial judge, Justice James Omotosho, had fixed the judgement date for November 20, 2025.

Justice Omotosho set the date after Kanu’s defence was foreclosed due to his refusal to open his defence.

He ruled that Kanu, having exhausted the six days allotted to him to present his defence, had effectively waived his right to do so.

The judge noted that he would have granted an extension if Kanu had opted to open his defence, however, since he declined to take the opportunity, he could not later claim a denial of his constitutional right to a fair hearing.
