A lawyer and philanthropist, Ahmed Nuhu Ribadu has flagged off free distribution of fertilisers to over 400 Adamawa farmers in to boost food production.
Speaking during the distribution exercise in Yola, Ahmed Ribadu who is son to the National Security Adviser, said the initiative under the auspices of Ribadu Media Centre (RMC) is aimed at boosting food production and ameliorate the sufferings of the people, especially the peasant farmers and poor masses who are going through difficulties.
He stated the importance of agriculture in the economy of Nigeria, and Adamawa state, with a call for all hands to be on deck to support the farming population in the country.
Ribadu reiterated his commitment and that of RMC to champion the cause of grassroots development, youth empowerment among other sectors which have multiplying effects on development.
He noted that agriculture remains the backbone of Adamawa economy, hence the need to give attention to the sector.
